Research Technician-CIMMYT

The position
The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) seeks to recruit a Kenyan national as a Research Technician. The position will be based at CIMMYT field offices located in Kiboko, Kenya.
Specific responsibilities
• Organize, plant and manage maize breeding nurseries
• Organize, plant and manage maize multi-environment trials
• Organize, plant and manage seed increase activities in Kenya
• Manage data collection from a variety of evaluation trials
• Carry out data entry, management and analysis for multi-environment trials
• Draft papers for publication.
Requirements
- BSC in Plant Breeding, Agronomy or a closely related field
- Experience in use of SAS or GenStat statistical analysis software for data analysis
- Experience in use of Field book software or any other software for data management
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively work with minimum supervision
- Valid Kenya driver’s license
- Practical experience in field layout will be an added advantage.
