Qualifications and Experience
- Atleast a BSc degree in Food Technology/ Microbiology/ Environmental Health or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution, MSc qualification will be an added advantage.
- Must have successfully completed a recognized HACCP/ISO 22000 or food Hygiene Training Course with a certificate demonstrating attainment and pass status.
- Must have successfully completed an approved auditor training course and passed with a certificate demonstrating attainment or pass status.
- Must have attended at least 5 food hygiene audits under the guidance of a fully qualified food survey/ hygiene auditor and must be able to demonstrate that they have performed a minimum of 30 man days of food relating auditing on site with 2 audits as a team leader.
- 5 years full time (or part time equivalent) work experience in a technical,professional or management position involving accountability and the exercise of judgement.
- mastery in audit processes and ability to coordinate several audit activities simultaneously in a fast service hotel industry.
- Good knowledge of local and international food safety regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to interact professionally with clients at all levels in carrying out auditing and ensure high level of professionalism at all times.
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills, good writing abilities, including correct grammar, sentence structure and spelling.
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Organise inspections/ travel itineraries for the year and notify clients of inspection dates, prepare and conduct food safety audits of clients' facilities according to the laid down standard procedures.
- work independently of direct office supervision and file all reports in a timely manner.
- Make changes as necessary to accommodate new business, postponements, etc.
- Provide technical training to management and employees at clients' facility regarding the adequacy of food safety program, pest control, operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety and cleaning practices.
- Develop and update client specific food manuals. Make presentations to and provide explanations of food safety documents to client personnel as necessary.
- Communicate verbally to management on the level of food safety existing at the facility and provide solutions to mitigate deviations.
- Prepare written report for management, recapping all issues of observations and, if needed, corrective actions that should be taken.
- Participate in continuous improvement team reviews of the audit program and function as a member of cross-departmental teams and projects as and whenever requred.
- Plan, schedule and achieve demanding business targets and overall corporate business objectives.
