VA/1 Head- Human Resource And Administration
Reporting to the General Manager-Finance & Administration, the position of Head- Human Resources and Administration entails the following:
Duties and responsibilities:
- Planning, organization, administration and control of activities in the Human Resource department;
- Coordinate implementation of human resources polices, rules and regulations;
- Advising on proper deployment, staff performance, career progression;
- Making appropriate recommendations and proposals on human resource planning and succession management;
- Interpretation and implementation of human resource policies, rules & regulations, including those relating to pensions, salaries, labour laws and others statutes relating to human resources,
- Advising Managers and other employees in matters relating to career development, employee relations, workplace ethics, discipline and grievance handling.
- Payroll and staff welfare management.
- Carrying out training needs assessments and coordinating training programs;
- Managing the organization’s performance management cycle.
- Updating and managing the Human Resource Information System;
- Transport and office management.
As a minimum one must have:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources management, Business Administration or Social Sciences;
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource from a recognized university;
- Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized institution
- A full member of IHRM as the professional body
- Served in the Human Resource function for at least seven (7) years, five (5) of which must have been at a senior or comparable position,
- Have well-developed communication (written/verbal), interpersonal and facilitation skills including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels in a variety of situations.
- Knowledge of the Kenyan Labour Laws;
- Proficient in human resource management based computer application skills;
- Hands on experience in target setting, performance appraisal and analysis to support a variable pay programme.
